2026 Expedition Calendar

There is a 2 night and 10 person limit per trip for Lilburn, per National Park Service regulations for Redwood Canyon.
For trips between May 22 and September 26 (called "quota season"), a wilderness permit needs to be requested online about two weeks before the scheduled trip, and needs to be picked up in person at the Kings Canyon Visitor Center in Grant Grove Village between 8 am and 4 pm (arriving around 3:30 pm at the latest to allow enough time for picking up the permit).
Trips outside of the quota season can arrive at any time and pick up a wilderness permit from the Kings Canyon Visitor Center in Grant Grove Village at the self-service kiosks.
